राखीव आमदारांना उत्तरदायित्व बंधनकारक करावे: डॉ डोंगरगावकर
नवी मुंबई,दि 5 डिसेंबर: केंद्रातील मोदी सरकारने अनुसूचित जाती, जमातींना लोकसभा आणि विधानसभेत प्रतिनिधित्व देणारे आरक्षण 10 वर्षांसाठी वाढवले आहे। त्याचे स्वागत करतानाच राखीव मतदारसंघातील खासदार, आमदार यांना संविधानिक कर्तव्ये आणि सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व निभावणे कायद्याने बंधनकारक करावे, अशी मागणी गणराज्य अधिष्ठानचे अध्यक्ष प्रा डॉ जी के डोंगरगावकर यांनी आज एका पत्रकाद्वारे केली।
या प्रश्नावर विधानसभा निवडणुकीपूर्वीच आपल्या संघटनेने निवडणूक आयोगाबरोबरच केंद्र सरकारशीही पत्रव्यवहार केला आहे, असे त्यांनी सांगितले।
2011 च्या जनगणनेची आकडेवारी आता उपलब्ध झाली असून अनुसूचित जातींची लोकसंख्या वाढली आहे। त्यानुसार, त्या समाजाला योग्य राजकीय प्रतिनिधित्व मिळण्यासासाठी महानगरपालिका, जिल्हा परिषदांसहित सर्वच स्थानिक स्वराज्य संस्थामधील राखीव जागा वाढवण्यात याव्यात, अशी मागणीही डॉ डोंगरगावकर यांनी केली। राज्यात लवकरच 12 महानगरपालिकांची निवडणूक होणार आहे। त्याआधी राखीव जागा वाढवण्याचा निर्णय घेण्यात यावा, असे ते म्हणाले।
