‘ मूकनायक’ ची शताब्दी विद्यापीठ पातळीवर साजरी करा; गणराज्य अधिष्ठानची मागणी.
ठाणे,दि 23 ( प्रतिनिधी) – भारतरत्न डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी दलितांच्या जागृतीसाठी चालवलेल्या ‘ मूकनायक’ या पहिल्या पाक्षिकाची शताब्दी राज्य सरकारने विद्यापीठ पातळीवर साजरी करावी, अशी मागणी गणराज्य अधिष्ठानचे अध्यक्ष प्रा डॉ जी के डोंगरगावकर आणि सरचिटणीस, ज्येष्ठ पत्रकार दिवाकर शेजवळ यांनी एका पत्रकाद्वारे आज केली।
डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी 31 जानेवारी 1920 रोजी ‘मूकनायक’ हे पाक्षिक सुरू केले होते। त्याची शताब्दी पुढील शुक्रवारपासून साजरी होत आहे। दलित समाजात साक्षरतेचे प्रमाण आणि वाचकांची संख्या नगण्य असतानाही केवळ जन जागृतीसाठी डॉ आंबेडकर यांनी आर्थिक झळ सोसत ते पाक्षिक चालवले होते।
मुकनायकसहित बहिष्कृत भारत, समता, जनता, प्रबुद्ध भारत ही त्यांची चळवळीची मुखपत्रे ध्येयवादी पत्रकारितेची महामेरू ठरली, असे डॉ डोंगरगावकर यांनी म्हटले आहे।
महाराष्ट्रात वृत्तपत्र विद्या आणि जनसंपर्क या अभ्यासक्रमाची एकूण 270 महाविद्यालये आहेत। ते लक्षात घेता मूकनायकची शताब्दी 31 जानेवारी 2020 पासून 31 जानेवारी 2021 पर्यंत विद्यापीठ पातळीवर साजरी करण्यात यावी, अशी मागणी गणराज्य अधिष्ठानने केली आहे। या शताब्दीच्या कार्यक्रमाचा आराखडा निश्चित करण्यासाठी मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे यांनी ज्येष्ठ विचारवन्त,शिक्षण तज्ज्ञ आणि नामवंत पत्रकारांची एक समिती गठित करावी, अशी विनंती पत्रकात करण्यात आली आहे।
