दलित- मागासवर्गीय नेते सर्वाधिक भ्रष्ट।
मुसलमानांची संख्या तुरुंगात म्हणजे गुन्हेगारांमध्येच अधिक असतात, असा ‘प्रश्नांकित’ सूर काढणारा पत्रकार शेखर गुप्ता यांचा एक जुना लेख समोर आला आहे। ‘दोन वर्षांपूर्वीची आठवण’ म्हणून ‘अक्षरनामा’ ने त्याला उजाळा दिला आहे। गुप्ता हे आता ‘एक्सप्रेस’ मधून बाहेर पडून ‘द प्रिंट’ मध्ये गेले आहेत। त्यांनी हा लेख लिहिला तेंव्हाची देशातील परिस्थिती आणि सध्याचे वातावरण भिन्न आहे।
सध्या देशात सुधारित नागरिकत्व कायदा आणि नॅशनल सिटीझन रजिस्टर विरोधात जनआंदोलन पेटले आहे। त्यात हे दोन्ही मुद्दे संविधानाला धक्का देणारे असल्याचा आक्षेप घेतला जात आहे। तसेच राज्यघटनेचे शिल्पकार डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांना अभिप्रेत असलेली धर्मनिरपेक्षता धोक्यात असल्याचा आरोप केला जात आहे। त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर, शेखर गुप्ता यांच्या लेखाला मिळालेल्या उजाळ्याने विपरीत परिणाम संभवतात।
त्यानिमित्त गुप्ता यांची नव्या परिस्थितीत उलटतपासणी घेण्याची गरज आहे। मागास जाती समूहातील लोक सर्वाधिक भ्रष्ट असतील तर मग बँका बुडवून देश लुटणारे कुठल्या समाजातले आहेत ? हेरगिरीद्वारे शत्रूराष्ट्राला मदत करणाऱ्या माधुरी गुप्ता ( आय एफ एस) यांच्यासारखे बहुसंख्य देशद्रोही लोक कुठल्या जातीचे आहेत? त्यांचीही यादी जातकुळीसह पत्रकार शेखर गुप्ता यांनी जाहीर करावी।
सुधारित नागरिकत्व कायदा आणि नॅशनल सिटीझन रजिस्टर विरोधात विद्यार्थी, तरुण आणि सर्व जाती धर्माचे लोक सध्या संविधान आणि डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांची प्रतिमा उंचावत रस्त्यावर उतरून एकजुटीने लढत आहेत। नेमक्या अशा वेळी डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी आरक्षण दिलेल्या मागास जातींना सर्वात अधिक भ्रष्ट ठरवणारा गुप्ता यांचा जुना लेख समोर यावा ?
लोकशाही वाचवण्यासाठी सुरू असलेल्या जन आंदोलनात त्यातून मागास समाज आणि आरक्षण विरोधक अशी फूट पडण्याचा धोका संभवतो आहे । दुर्दैवाने तसे घडू नये आणि गुप्ता यांच्या माथी भलता दोषारोप लादला जाऊ नये.।
