मुंबई: ज्येष्ठ पत्रकार दिवाकर शेजवळ यांची दैनिक ‘नवराष्ट्र’मध्ये सहाय्यक संपादकपदी नियुक्ती करण्यात आली असून त्यांनी नुकताच आपल्या पदाचा कार्यभार स्वीकारला.
तीन दशकाहून अधिक काळ पत्रकारितेत असलेल्या शेजवळ यांची नामवंत पत्रकारांमध्ये गणना होते. याआधी त्यांनी दैनिक ‘सामना’ मध्ये सुमारे १५ वर्षे वृत्त संपादक पदाची जबाबदारी पार पाडली असून ‘सांज दिनांक’ आणि ‘ लोकनायक’ या दैनिकांमध्ये कार्यकारी संपादक पद सांभाळले आहे. त्यांनी आजवर ‘ महानगर’, ‘आज दिनांक’, ‘देशोन्नती’ आणि साप्ताहिक ‘ चित्रलेखा’ मध्ये काम केले आहे.
दिवाकर शेजवळ यांना २०१८ सालात मुंबई मराठी पत्रकार संघाने प्रतिष्ठेचा ‘समतानंद अनंत हरी गद्रे पुरस्कार देऊन गौरविले आहे. तर, नवी मुंबईतील सत्याग्रह कॉलेजने भारतरत्न डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांच्या ‘मूकनायक’ पाक्षिकाच्या शताब्दीनिम्मित सत्याग्रही पत्रकार पुरस्कार देऊन त्यांचा सन्मान केला आहे.
राज्यात दलित चळवळीचे अभ्यासक आणि राजकीय विश्लेषक म्हणून दिवाकर शेजवळ यांना ओळखले जाते. त्यांचा दलित, ओबीसी, बहुजन समाजात आणि परिवर्तनवादी चळवळीत दांडगा जनसंपर्क आहे. मराठवाडा विद्यापीठ नामांतरासाठीच्या प्रदीर्घ लढ्यातील अग्रणीमध्ये त्यांचा समावेश होता.
