सुभेदार रामजीबाबा सकपाळ हे शेवटच्या घटका मोजत असताना डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर हे गुजरातमध्ये बडोदा येथे असतात। आजारी वडिलांना भेटण्यासाठी ते लगबगीने निघतात। ते प्रवास करत असलेली रेल्वे गाडी सुरत स्टेशनात येते।
तिथे अनाउन्समेंट होते की, ही गाडी रखडणार असून उशिराने सोडली जाईल। ते ऐकून बाबासाहेब गाडीबाहेर पडतात। स्टेशनबाहेर जाऊन चहापान करावे आणि वडिलांसाठी सुरतची प्रसिद्ध मिठाई घ्यावी, असा विचार त्यांच्या मनात येतो। ते अल्पोपहार, चहापान घेतात। मिठाईची खरेदी करून स्टेशनवर येतात। अन फलाटावर पाहतात तर त्यांची गाडी निघून गेलेली असते। दुसऱ्या गाडीसाठी प्रतीक्षा करण्याची वेळ त्यांच्यावर येते।
तर, दुसरीकडे रामजीबाबा भेटीसाठी भिवाचा धावा करत असतात।

स्टार प्रवाहवर ‘ महामानवाची गौरव गाथा’ ही मालिका सध्या सुरू असून त्यात रामजीबाबा यांची मिलिंद अधिकारी यांनी केलेली भूमिका संस्मरणीय ठरली आहे।
मरणासन्न रामजी बाबा यांची भिवाच्या भेटीसाठीची व्याकुळता दाखवणारा अखेरचा प्रसंग प्रख्यात कवी गायक दिवंगत नवनीत खरे यांनी एका गीतातून प्रभावीपणे सादर केलेला आहे। या गीताची मिलिंद शिंदे यांच्या कारुण्य असलेल्या आवाजातील ‘ऑडिओ कॅसेट’ येण्याची गरज आहे.
