मेलात तरी बेहत्तर पण पाणी मिळणार नाही !.
मागासवर्गीय बाबुराव ताजने याने स्वाभिमानाने खोदली विहिर
गावातील उच्च जातींतील व्यतीने मागासवर्गीय बाबूराव ताजने याच्या पत्नीला पाणी देण्यास मज्जाव केला “आमच्या जनावरांना पाणी लागते तुम्ही मारा किव्हा काही करा पाण्याचा एक थेंब ही देणार नाही माझा विहिरीवरून तू पाणी घेऊन जाऊ नकोस पाण्या शिवाय मेला तरी चालेल पण पाणी नाही मिळणार ! .
हो य ही गोष्ट आहे फुले शाहु आंबेडकर यांच्या महाराष्ट्र भूमितली ज्या महामानवाने माणसाच्या माणुसपणासाठी लढा लढून पाण्याचा मूलभूत अधिकार मिळून दिला त्याच महामंत्त्वाच्या राज्यात पाण्यासाठी पुन्हा सघर्ष करावा लागतो.
आपल्या या अवस्थेत स्वाभिमान जागृत ठेऊन बाबूरवाने आपल्या शेतात विहीर खोदण्याचे ठरविले आणि प्रत्यक्ष कृती करत रात्री चा दिवस करीत त्याने विहीर खोदण्यास सुरुवात केली तेव्हा गावातील सुरवातीला बाबुरावला वेडा म्हणणारे लोक आत्ता बाबुराव याचा हेवा करू लागलेत त्याच्या विहिरीत पाणी पडले.
एक स्वाभिमानी भारतीयाच्या मेहनतीला निसर्गाने ही साथ दिली
मात्र या घटनेने अजूनही जातीयतेच्या चिखलात रुतलेला महाराष्ट्र दिसला.
