डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांच्या महापरिनिर्वाण दिनानिमित्त १ ते ७ डिसेंबर देशभरातून लाखो अनुयायी दादर चैत्यभूमी बाबासाहेबांना अभिवादन करण्यासाठी येतात. या अनुयायांना पिण्याचे पाणी, राहण्यासाठी मंडप, शौचालये, परिसरातील स्वच्छता आदी सुविधा मुंबई महापालिकेकडून पुरवल्या जातात. यासाठी पालिका सुमारे दोन कोटींचा निधी खर्च करते. महापरिनिर्वाण दिनाचे नियोजन योग्य प्रकारे व्हावे म्हणून दादर येथील वॉर्ड ऑफिसमधील सहाय्यक आयुक्त, उपायुक्त, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त, आयुक्त स्थरावर बैठका घेतल्या जातात. त्यानंतर शेवटी महापौरांकडून आढावा बैठक घेतली जाते. महापौरांकडून घेतल्या जाणाऱ्या आढाव बैठकीत आंबेडकरी संघटनांना निमंत्रण दिले जाते. त्याठिकाणी आंबडेकरी संघटना आपल्या सूचना व हरकती मांडतात. त्यामधून मार्ग काढून महापरिनिर्माण दिनाचे नियोजन केले जाते. मात्र यावर्षी महापौरांनी अशी बैठक घेतली नसल्याचा आरोप आंबेडकरी घटनांनी केला आहे. महापरिनिर्माण दिन दोन दिवसावर आला असताना महापौरांनी त्वरित अशी बैठक घ्यावी अशी मागणी प्रतीक कांबळे यांनी केली आहे. दरम्यान महापरिनिर्वाण दिन तोंडावर आला असताना महापौरांनी अद्यापही आढाव बैठक का घेतली नाही असा प्रश्न उपस्थित केला जात आहे.
