27 मे हा रमाईंचा तर 29 मे हा माईसाहेबांचा स्मृतिदिन। अवघा एक दिवसाचा फरक हा त्यांच्या असीम त्यागाच्या साम्यासारखाच लक्षणीय योगायोग। रमाई यांनी काटेरी जीवन मार्गात खस्ता काढत ‘महापुरुष’ घडतांना बाबासाहेबांना निग्रहाने साथ दिली.संकटांच्या वणव्यात होरपळ सोसत अखेरीस समर्पण दिले.
तर, माईंनी व्याधी विकाराने ग्रासलेल्या काळात धम्म क्रांती आणि संविधान निर्मितीचे महत्कार्य तडीस नेताना बाबासाहेबांना भक्कम आधार आणि पदोपदी साथ दिली. रमाई आणि माई या दोघींनीही बाबासाहेबांच्या जीवनरुपी अग्निदिव्यात स्वतःच्या आयुष्याची समिधा दिली. केवळ त्या दोघींच्या त्यागामुळेच करोडो दलितांना ‘मुक्तीदाता’, धम्मक्रांतीसाठी ‘प्रवर्तक’ आणि खंडप्राय भारतासाठी संविधानाचा ‘जनक’ मिळाला.
