The book consists of two parts.The first is the devoted to human rights and the Constitution , while the second part deals with Dr Ambedkar’s all-round struggle for human rights . While dealing with the two subject,the author has brought on record a wealth of relevant information and has also raised some pertinent questions for students of politics and Constitutional law ,to answer.These questions cannot be dodged,but will have to be delved into to answer them satisfactorily . The trouble with indian intellectual world has always been that while considering our problems in any field of life,it has ignored the vast deprived and the disadvantaged masses and approached them from the elitist angle.For solutions,it always looked typically to the West ,having imbibed the western education and culture. No wonder,many of our problems have not only remained unsolved but have multipled .An indigenous and all-inclusive approach to all our problems in all the fields,is what is necessary.
Dr Ambedkar was equally concerned with the rights of minorities and particularly of the Muslim minority.In order to avoid partition of the Country ,he had even proposed a plan which was ignored.However ,in the Constitution ,he was able to see that political,social , religious,cultural , linguistic and educational rights of all the minorities-not only religious but also linguistic and ethnic-were protected and promoted .

About Author
Surendra Shrirang Dhaktode was born in sholapur (MS)on 9th March 1940.!He matriculated from kuchan High School , Sholapur in 1958 ;and graduated (B.Sc) from D.A.V.College in Sholpapur in 1962. He joined Siddharth College of Arts and Science ,Bombay as DemonstratoreChemistry in 1965 .While working as demonstrator he completed M.
Sc.(Inorganic Chemistry)with First class First in 1969, and was promoted as lecture in 1970.He was selected as Principal . During his tenure at Siddharth College ,he taught to M.Sc. students of Bombay University during the 973 to 1979 ,he was awarded Teacher Fellowship by UGC;and he completed Ph.D.from B.A.R.C, Bombay in 1984.
