नागपूर येथील डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर इंजिनीअर्स असोसिएशन यांच्या मार्फत महामानव डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर लिखित “बुद्ध आणि त्यांचा धम्म” हा महान ग्रंथ जगभरातून दीक्षा भूमीवर येणाऱ्या अनुयायांना दरवर्षी दान स्वरूपात असोसिएशनचे अध्यक्ष मा पी एस खोब्रागडे यांचा मार्गदर्शनाखाली देण्यात येत असतो .सदर उपक्रम गेल्या ९ वर्षे अविरतपणे चालू आहे .
देशभरातून या उपक्रमाला मोठा प्रतिसाद लाभत असून प्रथम वर्षांत ५० हजार ग्रंथाचे दान करण्यात आले गेल्या ९ वर्षात जवळजवळ ५ लाख ३५ हजार ग्रंथाचे मोफत दान देण्यात आल्याचे असोसिएशनच्या माध्यमातून सांगण्यात आले .
दिक्षा भूमीवर येणाऱ्या बौद्ध अनुयायाची त्यांच्या धम्म ज्ञानाची भर वाढावी आणि धम्म संस्कार यांचे आकलन होण्यासाठी ” बुद्ध आणि त्यांचा धम्म” अत्यंत महत्त्वाचा असून तो डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर इंजिनीअर्स असोसिएशनच्या माध्यमातून वाटण्यात येतो आतापर्यंत ग्रामिण भागात या ग्रंथाचे मोठ्या प्रमाणात वाटप झाले आहे असे ही असोसिएशनचे कार्यकर्ते माहिती देतात.
प्रतिवर्षी प्रमाणे ही या हि वर्षी “बुद्ध आणि त्याचा धम्म” हा ग्रंथ मोफत उपलब्ध करू देण्यात आलेला आहे.
जवळजवळ पाच वर्षे बौद्धधम्माचे आचरण कसे करावे यावर चिंतन केल्यावर महामानव डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी आपल्या शेवटच्या दिवसात हा ग्रंथ लिहून पूर्ण केला .त्यांचा महापरिनिर्वाण नंतर हा ग्रंथ प्रकाशित झाला त्याचे देशभरात स्वागत झाले .संपूर्ण भारतातून बौद्ध धर्म त्याचा प्रचार आणि प्रसार न झाल्याने पूर्णपणे लयास गेला होता मात्र महामानव डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी बौध्द धम्माची दिक्षा दिल्याने बौद्ध धम्म अन्य स्वरूपात पूर्णपणे त्याचे भरतात आला .पन्नास हजार ग्रंथ केवळ सहा तासात दान करण्यात आले फक्त १० रुपात दान करण्यात येणाऱ्या या ग्रंथाचे आत्ता पर्यंत ५लाख ३५ हजार ग्रंथ दान करण्यात आले त्याची किंमत जवळजवळ ५कोठी २५ हजार आहे हा ग्रंथ भारतातील बौद्धांच्या घराघरात पोहचावा आणि बौद्ध धम्माचे आचरण कसे करावे याची जाणीव त्यांना व्हावी म्हणून हा उपकरण बाणाई हा उपकरण गेल्या ९ वर्षांपासून राबवत आहे असे डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर इंजिनीअर्स असोसिएशन चे अध्यक्ष मा.पी एस खोब्रागडे सांगतात.
बौद्धांनी बाबासाहेब स्वीकारले मात्र त्यांच्या नंतर त्यांनी दिलेला धम्म्म दुर्लक्षित केला धम्म घरोघरी असला तरी त्याचा स्विकार योग्य रीतीने झाला नाही म्हणून ते योग्य संस्कार व्हावे म्हणून डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर इंजिनीअर्स असोसिएशन हा उपक्रम मोठया हिंतीने राबवत आहोत असे ही ते म्हणाले.
