प्राचीन अस्तित्वाच्या पाऊलखुणा..!

संपुर्ण जगात बुध्दाला लाईट अॉफ एशिया म्हणतात. भारत भूमीला जगात बुध्दाची भूमी, निसंशय बुध्द जगाचा प्रकाश आहे असेही म्हटले जाते. मात्र, काही कारणास्तव बौद्ध धम्माला भारतात ग्लानी आली आणि त्या संधीचा फायदा धर्म मार्तंडांनी व बौद्ध धम्माविरुध्द असलेल्या राज्यसत्तेनेही घेतला. ज्या पवित्र भूमीमध्ये हा धम्म उदयास आला व आशिया खंडासह जगाला व्यापले पण त्याचीचं या देशातील चौकट उध्वस्त करण्याचा महान पराक्रम या योगी, भोगी मनूच्या वारसांनी केला.
आज, दहशवादांने सर्व जगाला ग्रासले असून, आजचे जग ज्वालामुखीच्या उंबरठ्यावर वसले आहे. त्यामुळे जगात मानव जातीसमोर एक मोठ आव्हानचं उभे ठाकले आहे. अशा वेळी जगाला युध्दाची नव्हे तर, बुध्दाच्या मार्गाची गरज आहे, बुध्दाचा मार्गचं फक्त जगाला तारु शकतो. २,५०० वर्षापुर्वीचं तथागत गौतम बुध्दांनी जगाला अहिंसेचा अनमोल संदेश दिला. जगात अनेक देशात बौद्ध धम्म मोठ्या प्रमाणात जोपासला जातो. त्यामुळे, बुध्द धम्माचा भारतात उदय झाला ही भारतासाठी मोठी अभिमानाची अन् अस्मितेची गोष्ट असली पाहिजे होती. तसेच, तथागतांच्या हयातीतचं बुध्द धम्माचा महाराष्ट्रात प्रवेश झाला होता. महाराष्ट्राच्या सांस्कृतिक जडणघडणीत बुध्द धम्माचा फार मोठा वाटा आहे. कार्ले, कान्हेरी, अजंठा ऐलोरासारखे जगाला थक्क करणारे वास्तुशिल्प निर्माण झाली.
विश्ववंदनीय तथागत भगवान गौतम बुध्दांच्या महापरिनिर्वाणाला २१८ वर्षे झाली त्यावेळी सम्राट अशोकांनी भगवान बुध्दांच्या जीवनाशी निगडीत असलेल्या सर्व महत्वाच्या ठिकाणी जी एकूण ८४,००० विहारे बांधली आहेत, त्यातील बुध्दगया महाबोधी महाविहार हे एक महत्त्वाचे विहार आहे. त्या संदर्भातील माहिती, सम्राट अशोकाच्या आठ नंबरच्या शीलालेखात त्यांनी नमूद केले आहे. मात्र, ती विहारे आज कुठे आहेत ? बुध्द कालीन अस्तित्वाच्या पाऊलखुणा नष्ट का होत चालल्या आहेत याचा गांभिर्याने विचार कधी होणार ?
भगवान बुध्दांच्या जीवनातील जन्म, ज्ञान प्राप्ती, पहिले धम्म प्रवर्तन आणि महापरिनिर्वाण या घटना ज्या ठिकाणी घडल्या ती सर्व ठिकाणे धम्मांच्या आणि ऐतिहासिक दृष्टीने अत्यंत महत्वपुर्ण समजली जातात. त्यातील ज्या ठिकाणी आणि ज्या वृक्षाखाली तथागत गौतम बुध्दंना ज्ञानप्राप्ती झाली, जे प्राचीनकाळीन महाबोधी म्हणून प्रसिध्द पावले होते आणि आता ज्याला बुध्दगया म्हणतात. त्या स्थळाला आणि बोधीवृक्षाला बौध्द राष्ट्रे जास्त पवित्र मानतात. मात्र, बुध्दगया टेंपल अँक्ट बौध्दांना न्याय देत नाही, हिंदू महाविहारावरील हक्क सोडायला तयार नाहीत. कारण आर्थिक व्यवहार ! अनेक बौध्द राष्ट्रे लाखो, करोडो रुपये देणगी देतात, देशी – विदेशी पर्यटक देणग्या देतात. त्यामुळे हिंदू व्यवस्थापन महविहाराचा ताबा देत नाही. महाबोधी महाविहार मुक्तीसाठी अनेकांनी लढे दिले.
बोरीवली (बोधीवली) पुर्वेला कान्हेरी बुध्द लेणी येथे महादेवाचे जागृत देवस्थान असून, शिवलिंग असल्याचा चुकीचा आणि खोडसाळ प्रचार, प्रसार झाल्याने काही वर्षापुर्वी हिंदू शिवभक्तांनी महाशिवरात्री दिनी कान्हेरी बुध्द लेणी येथे जत्रेचं स्वरुप आणले होते. महाशिवरात्रीचा आणि प्राचीन कालीन ऐतिहासिक बुध्द लेणी, स्तुपांचा दुरान्वये संबंध नसतांना तसेच तेथे शिवलिंग किंवा शिवाचे कोणतेचं प्रतिक, स्थान नसतांना, बुध्द स्तुपाबाहेर हजारो नारळ फुटत होते, स्तुपाला शिवलिंग समजून अंधश्रद्धाळू लोक स्तूपाला पैसे चिकटवित व प्रदक्षिणा घालत असत, अशी कर्मकांडे घडत होती. मात्र, *महाशिवरात्रीला कान्हेरी बुध्द लेणी येथे चालणार्‍या कर्मकांडांना काही जागृत तरुणांनी, सन २००६ मध्ये छेद देण्याचा यशस्वी प्रयत्न केला* आणि जनजागृतीतून, सर्वांच्या उठावामुळे काही वर्षातचं, ती कर्मकांडे बंद झाली, इतर समाजाकडून होणाऱ्या कर्मकांडांना निर्बंध बसला असला तरी, इतर बुध्द लेणी, स्तुपांवर अतिक्रमण झालेली स्थळे दुर्लक्षित करता येणार नाही.
आपल्या ऐतिहासिक प्राचीन अनमोल स्थळांकडे आपले दुर्लक्ष झाल्याने अनेक बुध्द लेणी, स्तुपांवर अतिक्रमण, कब्जा, गैरवापर झालेला आहे. म्हणून बुध्द लेणी, स्तुप असो वा महाबोधी महाविहारावरावरील अतिक्रमण, गैरवापराविरोधात कायदेशीर मार्गांने, आपल्या ऐतिहासिक अनमोल स्थळांचे जतन करण्यासाठी तमाम बौद्धांनी जागृत, सजग, कार्यान्वित, दिशादिग्दर्शित होऊन, वेळ पडल्यास ‘युनायटेड नेशन’ ची मदत घेऊन सर्वकश लढा देणे गरजेचे आहे.
