शाहु महाराज बौद्धांचे कोण लागतात?

ऊसापोटी कायसही जन्मत असतो. तसेच दुर्दैव उदात्त विचारांच्या वेलींच्या वा चळवळींच्या वाट्यालाही येत असते. क्रांतीबा फुले,शाहू महाराज यांना डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांच्या भावविश्वातून, वैचारिक जडणघडणीतून कदापि बाद करता येणार नाही. किंबहुना, शाहू महाराज, प्रबोधनकार ठाकरे यांनी डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांना जी साथ दिली, त्याचे मुळच फुले यांच्या विचारांशी त्यांच्या असलेल्या अतूट बांधिलकीत होते. पण समाजसुधारक महापुरुषांमधील त्या वैचारिक अनुबंधांना समजून घेण्याची कुवत नसलेले काही आधुनिक ‘भाष्यकार’ आंबेडकरी चळवळीत हल्ली निपजू लागले आहेत.
हे नवे भाष्यकार आरक्षणाचा राजर्षी शाहू महाराज यांच्याशी असलेला संबंध नाकारण्यासाठी थेट रॅमसे मॅकंडोनाल्ड याच्याप्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करतात. अन त्याच्यापुढे नतमस्तक व्हायला निघतात! हे असले उपद्व्याप कशासाठी? तर, केवळ संत कबीर,फुले, शाहू, संत रविदास यांच्याशी बाबासाहेबांचे असलेले वैचारिक अनुबंध नाकारण्यासाठी, ते तोडून टाकण्यासाठी. आंबेडकरी चळवळीचा संकोच करून बौद्ध समाजाला एकाकी पाडण्याचा जणू विडाच( त्यात ‘सुपारी’असतेच हे वेगळे सांगण्याची गरज नाही) त्यांनी उचललेला दिसतो.
डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी दलितांना दिलेला आरक्षणाचा संविधानिक अधिकार 1950 सालात राज्यघटना अंमलात आल्यावर लागू झाला. गांधीजींच्या साक्षीने हिंदू समाजाने अस्पृश्य समाजाशी केलेल्या पुणे कराराची त्याने बूज राखली गेली.( त्या आरक्षणाच्या अधिकाराला आज दिला जाणारा नकार म्हणजे पुणे कराराशी केलेला उघड उघड द्रोह आहे!)
ब्रिटिश राजवटीतील कम्युनल अवॉर्ड, पुणे करार या घडामोडी डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी ‘दलितांचाही मीच नेता’ हा गांधीजींचा दावा मोडीत काढून स्वतःचे नेतृत्व प्रस्थापित केल्यानंतरच्या आहेत. पण त्याच्याहो खूप आधी म्हणजे 1902 सालात कोल्हापूर संस्थानात दलितांना आरक्षण लागू करणारा पहिला महापुरुष होता राजर्षी शाहू महाराज. आरक्षण या विशेष अधिकाराच्या संकल्पनेचे जनक तेच होते. म्हणूनच 2002 सालात आरक्षणाची शताब्दी देशभरात साजरी करून शाहू महाराज यांना सलामी दिली गेली होती. त्यांची जयंती दिवाळीसारखी धुमधडाक्यात साजरी झाली पाहीजे, असे खुद्द बाबासाहेब सांगायचे,यातच सारे काही आले.
