एबीपी माझा:चूक कबूल न करण्याचा अर्थ काय होतो?

‘काँग्रेस का हाथ, पाकिस्तान के साथ’ अशा विखारी बातम्या देणारी गोदी मीडियाची सुपारीबाज पत्रकारिता वृत्तवाहिन्यांच्या प्रेक्षकांना आता सरावाची झाली आहे। त्यात नवल असे काही नाही। पण एबीपी माझा या वृत्तवाहिनीने ‘पर राज्यातील लोकांना आपापल्या गावी जाण्यासाठी रेल्वे खास गाड्या सोडणार’ ही 14 एप्रिल रोजी दिलेली बातमी म्हणजे माथेफिरुपणाचा कळस म्हणावी लागेल। ती बातमी बिनबुडाची आणि तद्दन खोटी होती म्हणूनच चुकीची नाही।
तर,ती बातमी बिगर भाजप सरकार असलेल्या महाराष्ट्रात उद्रेक, अराजकाला निमंत्रण देऊन कायदा सुव्यवस्था धोक्यात आणण्यास कारणीभूत ठरू शकणारी होती। त्या बातमीनंतर पर राज्यातील लोकांचा हजारोंच्या जमाव मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे यांचे मातोश्री निवासस्थान असलेल्या फक्त वांद्र्यातच जमावा, हे कोडे त्या प्रकरणाचे गांभीर्य वाढवणारे आहे।
विशेष म्हणजे, एबीपी माझाने ती बातमी पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी लॉक डाऊनची मुदत 3 मेपर्यंत वाढवण्याची घोषणा केल्याच्या दिवशी दिली। त्याला बेभानपणा आणि माथेफिरुपणाशिवाय दुसरे काय म्हणता येईल ?
रेल्वेशी संबंधित त्या बिनबुडाच्या बातमीबद्दल एबीपी माझाचे प्रतिनिधी राहुल कुलकर्णी यांना अटक होऊन त्यांची सुटकाही झाली आहे। राज्यातील नोंदणीकृत मजुरांना राज्य सरकार पाच हजार रुपयांचे अनुदान दोन टप्प्यात देणार, ही त्यांची 13 एप्रिलची बातमीही खोटी पडली आहे। अशा एक दोन नव्हे तर त्यांच्या अनेक खोट्या बातम्यांची उदाहरणें समोर येऊ लागली आहेत। एबीपी माझावरील त्या कथित बातम्या देण्याचा बेजबाबदारपणा हा केवळ ब्रेकिंगच्या हव्यासापोटी घडत आहे की, राज्य सरकारला उपद्रव देण्यासाठी जाणून बुजून खोट्या बातम्या पसरवल्या जात आहेत, असा प्रश्न पडण्याजोगी परिस्थिती आहे।

राज्य आणि केंद्र सरकारच्या नावावर बिनबुडाच्या बातम्या उस्मानाबादमध्ये बसून एखादा प्रतिनिधी एबीपी माझा मधून सर्रासपणे खपवत असेल तर त्याचे अनेक अर्थ संभवतात।
पहिला अर्थ: त्या वृत्तवाहिनीकडे मंत्रालय,रेल्वे, महापालिका, म्हाडा, क्राईम अशा बिट्स साठी अनुभवी वार्ताहरांचे मनुष्यबळ नसावे। त्याशिवाय, एखादी वृत्तवाहिनी राज्याच्या आणि देशाच्याही राजधानीतील बातम्यांसाठी ग्रामीण भागातील प्रतिनिधींवर सर्वस्वी विसंबून राहणार नाही।
दुसरा अर्थ: संपादकांनाच मुळात बातमीतले ओ की ठो कळत नसावे किंवा बातम्यांवर त्यांचे काडीचेही लक्ष आणि नियंत्रण नसावे।
तिसरा अर्थ: एखाद्या प्रतिनिधीच्या बातम्या खातरजमा न करता किंवा तो देईल ती बातमी ( उदा: राजकीय नेत्यांच्या घरातील विदेशी कुत्रे) वाचकांच्या माथी मारण्यासाठी त्याला रान मोकळे मिळण्यामागे त्याचे महसुली योगदान वरचढ असावे।
दुसरा मुद्दा असा की, वृत्तपत्र असो की वृत्तवाहिनी, हातून घडलेली चूक कबूल केली तर वाचकांचा वा प्रेक्षकांचा विश्वास वृद्धिंगत होतो। विश्वासार्हता शाबूत राहते। पण चुकीची माहिती वाचकांच्या माथी मारल्याची चूक कबूल न करणे आणि सदोष बातमीबद्दलची वस्तुस्थिती आणि दुसरी बाजू समोर आणण्यास नकार देणे याचा अर्थ काय होतो? मग लोकांनी तुमच्या हेतुबद्दलच संशय घेतला तर त्यांना दोष कसा देता येईल?
