काय आहे मनुस्मृति दहना मागील सत्य ..!
महामानव डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी २५ डिसेंबर १९२७ रोजी महाड मुक्कामी ह्या विषमता वादी धर्मग्रंथाचे जाहीरपणे दहन केले.
ज्या सामाजिक व्यवस्थेने हजारो वर्ष दीन दुबळ्या जनतेला जाचक अटी करून संपूर्ण समजतात विषमता निर्माण केली सामाजिक रूढी परंपरा अधिक कडक करून गुलामी ,अन्याय अत्याचार व अंधश्रद्धा निर्माण केली स्त्रियांना असमान वागणूक देऊन त्यांना गुलामीत जीन जगण्यास लावून स्त्री व अस्पृश्य समाजाला पशुहीन जीण जगण्यास भाग पाडले अशा या विषमता वादी धार्मिक ग्रंथाची महामानव डॉ बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी आपल्या अनुयायांकडून महाड मुक्कामी जाहीर होळी केली.
मनुस्मृती हा एक प्राचीन भारतीय हिंदू धर्मशास्त्र विषयक ग्रंथ आहे. मनुस्मृतीला मानव धर्मशास्त्र असेही ओळखले जाते. ब्रिटीश काळात इ.स. १७९४ इंग्रजी भाषेत भाषांतर झालेला हा सर्वात पहिला ग्रंथ असून याच्यावरूनच ब्रिटिशांनी हिंदू कायदा तयार केला.
मनुस्मृतीतील छंदबद्ध रचनेवरून ती इ.स.पू.२ रे शतक ते इ.स.३ रे शतक या काळातील असावी. मनुस्मृती हा मनु आणि भृगु यांतील धर्मावरील संवाद आहे. यात कर्तव्ये, आचार, गुण, नियम व अधिकार इ. बाबतीत चर्चा आहे. मनुस्मृतीच्या आज ५० हून अधिक प्रती उपलब्ध असून त्यातील कोलकाता येथील इ.स.१८ व्या शतकातील प्रत अधिकृत मानली जाते.
मनुस्मृतीचा प्रसार भारताबाहेर म्यानमार, थायलंड, कंबोडिया आणि इंडोनेशियामध्ये देखील झाला होता. महाराष्ट्र राज्यात महाराष्ट्र शासनाने मनुस्मृतीच्या विक्री-खरेदीवर बंदी घातलेली आहे.मनुस्मृती मध्ये अस्पृश्य, शूद्र व स्त्रियांबद्दल अन्यायकारक काही कायदे/श्लोक सुद्धा आहेत या ग्रंथामुळे जातिव्यवस्था, अस्पृश्यता, जातिबंधने बळकट झालेली होती.
त्यामुळे महाड येथे डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी २५ डिसेंबर १९२७ रोजी सर्वप्रथम ‘मनुस्मृती’ ग्रंथाचे जाहीरपणे दहन केले आहे.
